1. Protect people and limit the damage
Make the area safe. In an emergency or if someone is injured, call 112. Take reasonable steps to limit further damage, without putting yourself at risk. Keep receipts for emergency measures.
2. Record the facts
- Date, time, place and factual description of what happened
- Photos of the scene, damage and relevant details
- Policy number, contact details and people involved
- Estimates, invoices, proof of purchase and witness details where available
3. Contact the agency promptly
Report the claim promptly and follow the deadlines in your policy. We will help identify the documents needed and the next steps. For car or home claims, easyAPP and easyAPP Home also provide a digital declaration channel and let you add supporting documents.
Practical reminders
Car / motorcycle
Record the registration numbers, parties and witnesses. Complete the accident statement accurately; sign only if you agree with its contents. Inform the police when appropriate.
Water / home damage
If safe, stop the source of damage. Photograph it before cleaning. Keep damaged items and obtain repair estimates; ask the insurer before permanent repairs, except essential emergency measures.
Theft / third-party damage
For theft, report it to the police and keep the report reference. For third-party damage, record the circumstances and forward any claim or correspondence to the agency.
Health / DKV
Keep medical invoices and public health insurance statements. Send health documents through the insurer’s secure channel and check any prior approval requirement before planned treatment.
A declaration opens the file; cover is assessed against the policy and the circumstances.
